Baptism -
This sacrament is administered to the children of believers. One of the parents at least must be a communicant member of the church, and be able to affirm as least the first three terms of the "Covenant of Church Membership." Adults would normally only be baptized if they wished to make a public profession of their faith, prior to becoming a communicant members of the Church, and have not previously been baptised.
Profession of Faith -
When a person comes to faith in the Lord Jesus we encourage him or her to profess that faith and become a member of the congregation. Anyone who would like to do this hsould speak to one of the elders. After the Covenant of Church membership has been explained candidates for membership meet with the elders and speak about their faith in Chirst. After that they may take the vows of membership during a congregational worship service.
Lord's Supper -
The sacrament of the Lord's Supper is observed serveral times a year, the spacing depends on the specific congregation. Members, in good standing, of other Christian Churches are welcome to come to the Lord's table. We do ask that they, first, meet with the session and indicate their assent to the first three statements in the Covenant of Church Membership.
Congregational Meetings -
Congregational meetings are times when church business is conducted, managers are elected, and other issues are discussed. The meetings are open to all in the church but only members can take part in church elections.
Weddings -
The Church can only be used for a marriage between believers who seek to marry in the Lord. Though they need not be members of the Church denomination, both parties must be able to affirm at least the first three terms of the "Covenant of Church Membership." Marriage counselling sessions with the Pastor are required beforehand. Australian law requires that a couple must meet with the Pastor at least one calendar month before the date they want to marry to sign papers declaring their intent to marry.
