He was initially involved in the Pentecostal scene after his conversion, but by the grace of God was later brought to understand and embrace the Reformed perspective on the Christian faith. He’s been a Presbyterian minister for 17 years. Currently he's the pastor of the Brimbank Presbyterian Church, (A church plant in the Western suburbs of Melbourne).
Phillip Scheepers "Strategies for Evangelism in a Multi-faith Society"
Dr. Scheepers is originally from South Africa where he studied for the ministry and obtained his D.Th in missions. After initial mission work in South Africa he moved to London where he worked for Veritas College for 8 years, establishing training ministries for local church leaders in the Arab world. That work eventually led him to Australia in 2007 to help secure accreditation for the Veritas training in the Australian vocational training sector. Dr. Scheepers joined the faculty of the Reformed Theological College in 2010 bringing a wealth of experience in missions and church-based training. This makes him ideally suitable for the tasks to which he is called as a lecturer in missions and coordinator of the RTC's new ministry training pathway, TASK3, that interfaces campus study with church-based training. Phillip is married to Chanel and they have two young boys.
Josh McEwen "Are you Living up to Your Name?"
Growing up the son and grandson of a minister, Josh thought he knew all about God. It was not until the death of his best friend in High School that he was challenged to admit that all he had was head knowledge--not a personal commitment to Christ as his King. From that time Josh has had an increasing passion (albeit in an often loud and attention-seeking way!) for sharing the gospel--especially to the "captive audience" he finds in his students. Josh taught high school in the USA for 8 years and has taught at Christian College Middle School for the past 4 years. His passions include: sport of any kind, discussing movies and books, crying, trimming bonsai trees, and being a fantastic husband to Sarah and father to his two young children and one on the way.
